The purpose of this training is to improve providers’ capacity to screen, medically manage, and provide advanced care for patients with Hepatitis C virus.

Objectives:

  • Outline the appropriate evaluation of a person infected with HCV prior to treatment with direct acting antiviral therapy
Screening and Diagnosis

Objectives:

  • Describe appropriate screening criteria for HCV and apply to clinical practice
When and Who to Treat

Objectives:

  • Discuss the principles of and indications for HCV treatment
Selecting HCV Treatment

Objectives:

  • Identify the primary factors in choosing an appropriate hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment regimen
Treatment Monitoring and Post Treatment Surveillance

Objectives:

  • Monitor hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment as per guideline recommendations
  • Recommend appropriate long-term care of liver disease subsequent to sustained virologic response (SVR)
