The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) Office of HIV/AIDS is pleased to welcome you to our upcoming 2017 Annual MSM Symposium being held October 12-14, 2017 at the Loudermilk Center in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Our strategic plan is to end the transmissions of HIV infections among Georgia’s gay, bisexual and men who have sex with men and provide superior health care and support services for those who become HIV positive. The symposium goals are to a.) to emphasize and educate participants on the importance of receiving optimal care from providers, b.) explore adherence issues among the targeted groups, c.) promote HIV prevention literacy, and d.) coalition building to tackle the growing necessity to promote sexual health and address the psycho-social needs of a diverse community.
The 6th Annual Symposium is cohosted with the Office of STD at DPH. Our theme “Finding the Light Within You” lends itself to programming that reflects the connectedness of educators, community partners, and presenters who will collectively share their expertise on topics that affect critical issues facing the gay, bisexual, men who sex with men, transgender or non-gender conforming community. The Symposium mirror the core values of caring, integrity, diversity, and excellence. DPH is especially interested in exploring innovative tools used in work with youth and men of color.
