AUGUST 16, 2017, SAN FRANCISCO: PleasePrEPMe.org and Project Inform are pleased to announce a free new resource to assist navigation support staff in California: “Helping People Access PrEP: A Frontline Provider Manual on PrEP Research, Care and Navigation.”
This publication provides a wide range of information that aids the daily work that frontline staff engage in to support their clients’ desires to get and maintain PrEP. With this launch, PleasePrEPMe.org continues its commitment to fostering consumer awareness and access to this HIV prevention strategy statewide.
“We wanted to provide a full spectrum of baseline PrEP information so navigators throughout the state — especially those new to this field of work — would have a centralized place to access the tools that will help them support their clients,” states Alan McCord, Director of Education at Project Inform.
“We intend this to be a “living” resource by updating it regularly and adding new content as it becomes necessary. Anyone can easily sign up to be notified when those updates occur.”
The manual can easily be incorporated into a binder and is free to download at Project Inform or PleasePrEPMe. Although some of the content relates to California-specific issues and services, navigation staff in other states may find it useful as well.
